We stumbled across this place while taking the crosstown bus, and knew we had to pop in for a coffee pit stop. Trash Island, is your locals favorite coffee shop and it’s evident. It’s very chill, the baristas are super friendly and down to earth, the coffee is great (oat chai is outstanding), and the space itself is quirky and casual .We didn’t grab food this go around, but they serve small bites like empanadas, pastelitos, and sandwiches (we might have even saw a burrito). We’ll be returning to try the food since Trash Island has been added to our list of favorite coffee shops in Brooklyn.
