Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Troutbeck

Troutbeck can be described as a luxury retreat at its best. A 250 year old Inn that is rich with history. We had the chance to sit with Anthony Champalimaud, who is behind the resurgence of Troutbeck, as he told us magical stories of the guests that would frequent Troutbeck like: Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Mark Twain, Ernest Hemmingway, Governor Teddy Roosevelt, Sinclair Lewis, W.E.B. Du Bois, Thurgood Marshall, and Langston Hughes. You get a sense of the history while you explore the grounds, and the architecture. While the cool calming demeanor of the staff will suddenly put you at ease, it’s the beautiful scenery and decor that really transports you to a tranquil place. If you are looking for a trip to Upstate NY to relax and unwind, then Troutbeck is the place for you. Lay out by the pool, ride around on bikes, take a yoga/meditation class, or even hang out by the river with a book. Troutbeck has plenty to offer. The dining experience alone is worth stopping in for. A delicious and thoughtful farm-to-table menu is served 5 nights out of the week and we highly recommend the breakfast as well. Book your stay and let the property inspire you.
